Mike Gooch, Maintenance Manager and Laurie Shields, Sawpit Building Chairperson recently met to see what could improve and accelerate the greenery behind building 1000 now that the Slope Repair project is complete.
A few notes:
The contractor finished the work shortly before the heavy rains began and clean up was delayed as Snowater crews were very busy with other, more urgent maintenance (heavy rains which resulted in the Nooksack River swelling and Mt Baker Hwy closures, power outage damage, deck rebuilds, freezing temps….) and tidying up this area was (understandably) not the highest priority.
- Maintenance plans include cleaning up debris and spreading out the large mounds of dirt in the lower areas.
- Some amount of natural restoration will occur as the dirt contains seedlings from plants
Ideas were discussed to promote faster restoration and add visual enhancement.
If individual owner wants to enhance this area even more, can add additional plants upon approval form Mike.
