Greetings to All Snowater Owners as we approach Hallowe’en.
We hope that you and yours are healthy and safe as we approach the wettest months of this “pandemic-plagued” year. And there is no end in sight until we are free to return to Snowater to enjoy nature, skiing and the other recreational opportunities at our 4-Season Mt. Baker Getaway.
The Chimney Chase / Roofing project for 2020 is now complete as the last of the four buildings (100 Lone Jack) will have its chimney caps installed next week. The photo shows the finished chimney chase and roof on the 400 building looking east toward the 300 building. The new Hardie board shingles on Lone Jack’s chimney chases will sport their yellow primer coat paint until early summer next year when they will be painted to match the rest of the building. Our contractors have been scheduled to perform this major work on another five buildings next year – 500, 600, 700, 800 and 900.
The Board and management staff have been busy for weeks preparing budgets and reports that will be included in the AGM packet to be sent to all owners next month. As non-essential travel is still discouraged in Washington and the border to Canada remains closed, we have determined that this year’s AGM will be held virtually – via Zoom video Webinar. Full details for registering to attend the Virtual AGM on Saturday December 5 will be forwarded via post and email in mid November.
The Board met last Saturday morning and presented the proposed 2021 budgets and Assessments to the Building Chairs in the afternoon. The Minutes of the October 24 BC Meeting are already posted in the Owner Info section of the website, so please log in and have a look under Building Chair Minutes. In addition, the key financial documents that describe the 2021 budgets for Snowater and the buildings as well as the proposed assessments for 2021 are posted on the website under Snowater and Bldg Budgets and SA Important Documents. All but four buildings will face lower assessments in 2021 vs 2020, and many are significantly lower.
The Resort Usage Fee is being revised effective January 1, 2021. We listened to the building chairs who lobbied successfully for a weighted RUF based on the size of unit. The Revised Resort Usage Fee is posted online under SA Important Documents.
We look forward to having you join other owners at the Virtual AGM at 3:00 pm on Saturday December 5.
The following statement in the message above is not remotely accurate “…Resort Usage Fee is being revised effective January 1, 2021. We listened to the building chairs who lobbied successfully for a weighted RUF based on the size of unit….” In fact, one owner asked that this be considered—that was it, without a single comment in support or against it, so to imply that building chairs “lobbied for it” is a gross misrepresentation of the building chairs’ support of a weighted (or any other version) of the revised policy. For the record.
